🧠 Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist at United Airlines, you will:

• Build and execute scalable solutions to business problems using advanced analytics, data mining, optimization, and machine learning techniques.
• Work with large, complex datasets from multiple sources to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business problems, select appropriate modeling approaches, and deploy effective analytical solutions.
• Develop predictive models using algorithms such as logistic regression, random forest, GBM, neural networks, and SVM.
• Translate quantitative findings into clear, actionable business recommendations.
• Continuously innovate and refine your methodologies to improve model performance and business impact.

🎓 Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering)
• 2+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics
• Strong programming knowledge in Python or R
• Experience with predictive modeling techniques and hands-on model building
• Ability to write complex queries using Teradata SQL or Microsoft TSQL
• Comfort in handling and analyzing high-volume, high-dimensional datasets
• Clear and effective communication of data insights and technical concepts
• English fluency (written and spoken)

• Master’s degree in Math, Statistics, Operations Research, or MBA with quantitative focus
• Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark), API Gateways, and unstructured data
• Familiarity with data visualization tools and cloud-based platforms
• Exposure to agile development practices and enterprise-level analytics frameworks.
